Requirements

slynx runs on any host with PHP 8.0+ and a MySQL or MariaDB database. That covers the vast majority of shared hosting plans available today. No Node.js, no Composer, no shell access required.

Step 1: Upload

Download the slynx package and upload the contents to your web root via FTP or SFTP. The package is a flat directory of PHP files — no build step, no dependency install.

Step 2: Install

Visit yourdomain.com/install.php. The installer walks you through six steps: requirements check, database connection, root account creation, site settings, legal/GDPR details, and optional SMTP configuration. The whole process takes about five minutes.

Step 3: Write

Log in at /login, go to Admin → Posts → New Post, and write. The editor supports rich text via Quill, featured images, categories, tags, and a bilingual second-language tab. Hit Publish and you are live.

Step 4: Customise

Head to Admin → Appearance to change your colour palette. Set up your nav links in Admin → Settings. Add your legal details for the auto-generated Impressum and Datenschutz pages. Invite your team under Admin → Users.

That is genuinely it. No plugins to install, no theme marketplace to browse, no configuration rabbit holes. slynx does what a CMS should do and stays out of your way.
